hi all

i was wondering if anyone could give me tips on the best way to prime this filter.. i realise its self priming but whenever i reattach it all it seems to get air and makes this loud noise and i can see in the tubing air spots where the water isnt flowing through the intake hose.

is there a point where the water is being pumped in the canister where you should pull the handle up or something??

thanks!

This is the Ausie sales for Eheim they should be able to help you.

Is the impella clean and working. Do you fill the filter up first.

I have to fill my Pro11 up first then push the primer pump.

Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info

Try filling it up first. Most cannisters won't prime unless you fill them. The air in the cannister breaks the suction and gets trapped in the tubes when the water starts to run in.

I managed to get it started but the air does get stuck.. next time i need to clean it i will try starting it with more water in it.
i kept pumping it using the handle and that eventually got it working but i doubt its actually good for the filter!

i thought because of how the handle works to prime it you open the inlets up, the water flows in and its just supposed to work when you plug it in.. maybe not the case!

thanks.. hopefully it wont be such hard work next time!
