FRANK Moderator Posts: 5108 Kudos: 5263 Votes: 1690 Registered: 28-Dec-2002 | Hi, The easiest, and least expensive way to clean the glass of the deposits is to pour a small amount of vinegar on the glass and scrub the glass and vinegar with a plastic "scrubby." Be sure to purchase a scrubby without soap built in as some are. Another way is to wet it and scrape it off with a safety razor blade. Spraying the glass with a cleaner (from the LFS) still requires scrubbing, and if you purchase a glass cleaner, do not use it around the tank. Be sure to rinse the glass throughly. Commercial glass cleaners contain ammonia and other compounds that are toxic to fish. Frank -->>> The Confidence of Amateurs, is the Envy of Professionals <<<-- |

All I do is run it under warm tap water and use a sharp razor blade. There are several glass cleaning pads on the market today just have a good look before you buy. I have been using the same brand and type for several years. I also use it for cleaning the glass on the inside of the tank and never a problem. As you are not is Aust the brand and type name would not help you at all Keith Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do. I usually have a lot of extra time on my hands so i do it while watching TV. Not a short time project. Bdadawg |
