Did you double up, or over pack something? This will definitely have an impact on the power of the filter. Also, as mentioned already, be sure to clean the impeller and inlet and outlet tubes and such. HTH..... There is always a bigger fish... |

Its still working, but its not wokring as well as it should be. If it is due to old age, then i must say it is pretty poor quality since ive only had it for a couple of years. this happened to anyone else? ![]() |

The intake has a foam pre-filter to minimize the chunks going into the filter. Each time that I clean the unit, I thoroughly rinse the coarse filter pad and replace the fine filter pad. Using a five gallon pail that is half-filled with aquarium water, the trays containing the efimech and efisubstrat are rinsed until they no longer surrender any waste or dirt. The interior cannister is scrubbed with a pad, the impeller is cleaned with a toothbrush and the impeller cavity is scrubbed with a tube brush. I have not had a problem with this regimen. I would look to scrubbing the impeller cavity and rinsing the bio media in waste aquarium water. __________ "To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism; to steal from many is research." researched from Steven Wright |

Gibson SG you know you want one!! |

Another question how often do you do a full pull down and cleaning? I have the Eheim Pro11 2026 and do a full maintainance every two months. I have been advised not to replace the ba Keith ![]() ![]() Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do.
