Page 63, "WINTER INDOORS," says that you can, and tells the many benifits of having the fish spend the summer outdoors. When you are ready to bring them indoors, you should measure the temperature of the pond first thing in the morning before the sun strikes it. If it is more than one degree below that of the normal indoors tank, then you should bring the fish in for the winter. You should also measure the pH of the tank and the pond, and slowly acclimate the fish to that of the tank. The article goes on to say that you should not have more than 0.2 pH difference between the two. I have seen tropical fish outside but in the semi tropical location. I pond is still a container but can only be seen from the top. If outdoors other problems birds etc. Keith ![]() ![]() Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do. I VOTE DO YOU if not WHY NOT? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

You can get them from any Feed N Seed store, and they run off 110 or 220 VAC. It's far, far, cheaper to partially drain the pond, catch and transfer the fish, and then completely drain the pond and cover it. Then, in the spring clean the bottom, and refill it.
