Hello to all on FP

The Trabeculectomy operation was a success, the eye pressure is now in the safe zone it went from 29 to 4 within 12 hours.

The eye has not recovered fully yet down to one eye drop four times a day now, it started out at nine drops four times a day.

When it is fully recovered there is a good possibility the other eye will have to be done as well. I have no choice at all either it gets done or I will go to total blind in that eye. Not much of a choice.

For the last couple of weeks I have done basically nothing except stay in bed most of the day. As we have just finished summer it is still very hot and extremely bright outside which means hat and sunglasses every time I go out. As the wife does not drive I still have to drive but littls as possible and certainly no night driving at all

Well, like I said in chat, hope you get totally well soon, Keith. I was wondering yesterday where you were off to, though I thought maybe just a vacation or something. Take care of your eyes and don't overdue it.

I was beginning to wonder where you were Keith. I had planned to ring and check up on you next week if you didnt surface again.

Good to see you back, and take care of those eyes.

Hi Keith,
It was good to chat with you last night. I looked up the
procedure, and I hope that your prognosis is good.
Remember, no bending and no heavy lifting weight over a
certian number of pounds (stresses the eye).
That means that you need to leave the flower garden,
tank pruning and water changes with buckets to your
wife, or let them grow. Or use a syphon.
Frank

Thank you for all those replies. I am finding it funny not having to use eye drops in that eye after 20+ yeras. I can tell you I certainly appreciate not living on mild pain killers. Back to gym tomorrow just a swim (with goggles) and a quick sauna and then a spar, its such a hard life I live then out to lunch with the wife.

Again thank you all for your concerns.

Hi,
I sincerely hope that you are not sparring with that
eye.. I'd suggest to you that it is entirely too early to
risk being smacked in that eye. That could cause you to
have to have the surgery redone, or complicate matters so
much that additional surgery of any kind to the eye would
be fruitless..

I think there is a little bit of confusion about the word "Spar"
A Spar in Aust is a very hot small swimming pool(the gym one can fit up to 15 adults) or a large water container for ??? number of people depending on the size. They blow air bubbles through the water and it is extremly relaxing. Some might call them a bubble bath which is basically a big bath with soap added.
