Welcome Dorycora! I am new also. It sounds like you should do quite well, being a person that is interested enough in their fish that they are willing to search the net for info. like you have. I wish you much luck and much fun with your new hobby!

A big welcome from Keith
Well I an far from new 35+years experience and still learning there is so much excellent info here and very knowledge members.

No question is ever stupid remember we all had to learn at some time.

List all about your tank and the area you live in and you just might have a member living close to you.

Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info

Oh look, another addition to the UK contingent!

From your name I'd guess you're a fan of Corydoras catfishes ... correct?

In which case, you and my Pandas will get along fine.

Speaking of which, I think they're gearing up for a spawning again ...

Thank you for the warm welcome
There is so much info here, SO much to learn!
I am a big fan of corys and all catfish. That's what I'm stocked with, fo the most part. I'll put info on my tank(s) in my profile.

Look forward to getting to know you all

Oh by the way Dorycora, if you're looking at your posts in this thread, and wondering why your post count is static at zero, posts in the Recovery Room don't count towards your total. One of the idiosyncrasies of this Board that you'll soon get to grips with.

Post in the main forums, on the other hand, and your post count will soon grow.

Oh, and don't forget to click on the AquaRank sticker and vote for us ... the more votes, the merrier!

First stop, since you're a catfish lover, is Bottom Feeder Frenzy. There are a number of catfish aficionados posting in there (myself included), among them being Cup_of_Lifenoodles, who is FP's one stop shop for all things to do with L-numbers (I gather he's spawned a few interesting ones lately). Other Cory fans include Natalie, who used to be known as Cory_Addict before a name change, and has quite a collection, including, last time I checked, Corydoras duplicarues, which is a VERY nice species to acquire if you can get it.

Speaking of which, Natalie, did you ever acquire Corydoras weitzmani as part of your collection? Only those are hideously expensive here in the UK ...

Needless to say Dorycora, you'll soon find out who the other catfish fans are, along with the Cichlid fans and the assorted other specialists ... speaking of which, whatever happened to Toirtis, the resident Bichir expert? Is he still posting here or is his professional work eating into all his waking hours?

"Post in the main forums, on the other hand, and your post count will soon grow."

I was reading about that Cali when I was exploring this site and was wondering the purpose of it? Now if we got cash awards for a certain no. of posts I could understand striving for that............ or even prizes, like aquarium supplies. But as it is, all I see is the no's. growing? What is the purpose of having a large no.?

From what I see I would take it that if you get an answer to a post from someone with large no's. that means they have been on this site for a long time & hopefully have learned a lot so you can pretty well trust what they say? Is that the purpose?

Thanks Cali.. You caught me in chat & confirmed what I thought. If your post count is any indication........... than it certainly holds true for you! I have read many of your posts & the knowledge & the speed with which you compose them is astounding! Since you are an older gentleman............ someday you will no longer be posting on FP. When that time comes, I believe it will be a sad time for many here at FP. Your posts & the knowledge they contain..........even the "extra knowledge" will be greatly missed here. Many will look back & decide they should have appreciated your posts more than they did at the time. I for one appreciate them right now! I don't know if I will still be posting on FP later in the future, but when that time comes that you are no longer posting............ it will leave a big hole here in the forums. Thank you so much for all you contribute here!!
