Currently... nothing. No wonder I'm broke!

Looking for work. Dunno what I want to do, really. I'd love to work with animals and should have studied that in college. Instead, I wound up with this terribly broad degree in communications, emphasis in design. What that means, of course, is that I'm a web designer wannabe, with delusions of graphic design. *chuckles*

~Meow. Thus spoke the cat.~

full-time undergrad student. Studying music, though I've lost the interest to go into it, picked up a business minor, looking into those options.

Very part time petsmart employee. My music schedule makes it difficult to actually get hours. :%)

I meant the TACHTS test for highschools. The one that was formally know as the Co-op. I've never heard of the ones you are talking about.

OK then I don't suppose we are talking of the same test, unless you are a high schooler in the state of Texas, of which case it is TAKS (Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills). And if you are young enough to be still in hs you wouldn't remember any of the others except TAAS...But, it is possible that you are taking the TAKS outside of Texas, of which case I as a teacher must say how sorry I am...and as much as I love teaching, and the students:%)the pressure of teaching to the test is getting to me...as well as it is to Leslie (sorry Les for speaking for you, but...) Speaking of it, keep ya'll's fingers crossed as 3rd Grade Reading TAKS results are do in tomorrow, though we won't see them till Mondayam I worriedam I not sleepingSomeone somewhere wave their magic wand and make it so that all of my kids passedotherwise there will be another 21 days of Hades to go through before they have to take it again...that's right the state even has a certain number of class days they will give us to reteach the kids everything they don't know before they retake the testgoes to stare at fish tank again:88)

I'm a self-employed public relations consultant, specialising in strategic communications plans for non-profit organisations. And I LOVE my job! I never thought I would find a career that suited me, but now I have found it I never, ever want to do anything else!

Oh, except I've just applied for a job as campaign manager for a political party (it's election year in New Zealand). I would love to tell you which party it is, but we're not allowed to discuss the P word

I haven't used glue for several years (my how I do miss the vapors! :%)).. The majority of what I do is the short (6-8 hour), nonambulatory testing so there is no need for the good glue.. I just use paste which is just as nasty, but in it's own special way

Hi All,
I'm retired Navy (20 yrs), a geologist, and currently
my wife Susan and I live on and manage a 781 unit storage
facility on 6 acres for Public Storage, Inc. We are in our
12th year with them and can retire (again) in four years.
Mean while Susan has started an EBusiness marketing the
life size toddler dolls (one of a kind) that she makes.
Also the site will host craft products from others who
live in the mtns with us.

I thought I was soon to be done working, and the home
in the mountians paid off, when she suddenly announced
the other day, that the 3 br, 2 ba, 2000sqft house was
too small! She needs a shop, and an office and "you
need a shop." "For what?" "Why to build the furniture
for the dolls." "Oh."

I guess retirement is only a figment of my
immagination...

Currently I am a plant molecular biologist, which basically means that I first make plants "sick" by treating them with DNA altering chemicals, and then try to find out which genes have been mutated so a function can be assigned to these genes. In a couple of months I will switch jobs and start working on RNA splicing.

When I grow up I am going to be an Anthropologist (feel free to ask if you want) , and have a BA in English Lit to back me up if in the future I grow to weary or run out of funding and desire a different set of scenery.
One day I would love to have a little money put away to open a little fish store, or perhaps just have a private breeding setup for some different types of fish, and possibly a pond for breeding dojo loaches and white cloud mountain minnows

During the day I work as an administrative assistant for a construction company and a couple of nights a week I waitress at an Irish Resturant/Pub. I am also taking
EMT-B classes and if I decide to go further in my training there most likely will be a job opportunity with that in the future. I also make quilts to order in my spare time.

As I already asked Where do you live?, just wondering what some of you do for a living? Are you self-employed (such as myself as I own a small real estate appraisal company which consists of myself, 1 full time & 1 part time employee), work in retail, entertainment, student, retired, etc..

Didn't put this in the original post, but I'm also retired from the USAF.

My job description is kinda a tough one.

My title is Sales/Tech Support.

I basically sell large phone systems and maintenance on them. That's only when I'm not on-site at a customers location, helping out working on their system. Or when I'm not dealing with problems at a customer site from my home office location.

I also take turns monitoring the systems we maintain after hours from my house.

Hey for those that don't know, I am a teacherthat should be a 4 letter word but is actually 7 This may be my last year teaching though I won't know until Monday. That is when I will find out if my contract has been renewed...if it hasn't I think I shall be going into another field, though at this time I don't know what

This is my seventh year teaching...For 6 years I taught in the Jr. High setting, and now fully believe that that is where I belong, not in the the elementary setting...To be all out honest I am a bit tired of everybody's life being based on one stupid test TAKS(2-4 letter word). It is just a bit insane how public education has become this day and age, and that's my story.

Trying to rebuild a career after time taken out nursing my (now deceased) mother through osteoarthritis and Alzheimer's.

Anyone wants to hire a web developer, give me a call

Past career included games software development, and real time programming for embedded systems (including some I'm not allowed to say TOO much about).

I'm also hoping that someone in the publishing world will look kindly upon my writing. I spent 4½ years and 700,000 words on one project, which I'm still waiting to see in print.

Career aspirations not helped by twonks in management who think that 'software development' consists of putting together collections of pretty buttons for the users to press, with NO knowledge of the underlying code complexity needed to make it all hang together, and whose idea of a deadline for a project the size of Adobe PhotoShop consists of a phone call to some other twonk in red braces saying "Yeah, it'll be finished next week".

Then wonders why the company goes into liquidation 10 days later.

I once had half a mind to go into politics. Then I realised that this made me vastly over-qualified for the task.

Cynical, moi??? Whatever gave you that idea?

Oh, almost forgot. Will happily accept position as roving international troubleshooter for MI5 or other position with similar jet set lifestyle and gung-ho action followed by steamy passion with exotic ladies included in the benefits package.
