At the moment we are looking at a dry under 30C day, but actually we all want rain and plenty of it BUT not all at once. Our first artificial Christmas tree it just touches the ceiling. The latest cat addition loves climbing it too Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info Look here for my Betta 11Gal Desktop & Placidity 5ft Community Tank Photos Keith Keith's Christmas tree 12-08 Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do. I am catering for 20 people at lunch time. Then we go to a friends house in the evening. The kids are very excited! Adrian and I have to put the trampoline together after the kids are in bed asleep Wednesday night. Hopefully we wont be up too late doing that! Merry christmas! You can come, as long as you are good at putting batteries in kids toys. Before you criticize someone walk a mile in their shoes. That way you're a mile away and you have their shoes. |

Today I am making a Baileys rocky road fudge slice. I have been advised to double up on the Baileys as it tastes a lot better, plus a good feed of Aussie king prawns. And all day nothing but water and tea to drink. A bit of driving to do so I must play it safe. That does not mean it will be the same Boxing day as we are staying home. There are so many more useless drivers on the road to compensate for. So far I have almost been merged into 3 times, been stuck behind someone keeping pace with the car in the left lane (a good 15k under the limit too, it was greeeeeat) and managed to avoid several very drunk and/or every tired drivers that were having a great deal of difficulty with straight ahead. Add to that the across the board over-cautiousness and therefore unpredictability that comes with a double demerit period and the roads are just horrible. /grinch Still, all going well so far. Just one more day to go. Happy Xmas everyone |

We had a good day before all that though. Couldn't of asked for better weather and happier kids! Hope everyone else has had a good holiday period. keithgh *Ultimate Fish Guru* Posts: 6371 Kudos: 6918 Votes: 1542 Registered: 26-Apr-2003 | Lindy Is Ryan OK. Nothing is worse than taking children to hospital, been that done that plenty of times the big C scare but turned out a over careful doctor. Just as well I was a sober as ever, later on Christmas day about 6pm a stupid parent let her two young kids play with their new bikes with out supervision. I came around a corner slowly as usual then I basically roll down to the next corner 4 house blocks it is a steep hill. One of the two young kid came flying out of their sloping driveway and naturally straight in front of me. I slammed the brakes on and stopped practically instantly (no skid marks) by the time I got of the car the kid was up and run across to the other side and about the same time Mum came screaming out realizing it was the kids fault. Only damage I knocked his hand break. In fact Marg an myself were shaken up the most. I was still shaking an hr later. I strongly recommended to mother to take the wheel of for a while. A little later I looked out the Daughters window yes you guessed it on the road again and no supervision. The mother does not realize how lucky the kid is alive about 5 minutes behind me was the son in-law who only knows two speeds Faster and faster. There is no way he could have stopped in time. I still feel a bit shaken up even writing this. Other than all that we had a good day. I made some Rocky Road fudge using Irish Cream it is a killer (safe to eat) heat kills all the good stuff. It is certainly not for the diet conscious Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info Look here for my Betta 11Gal Desktop & Placidity 5ft Community Tank Photos Keith Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do. keithgh *Ultimate Fish Guru* Posts: 6371 Kudos: 6918 Votes: 1542 Registered: 26-Apr-2003 | I checked their ages today and both under 5yld. They were playing on a narrow busy little road. It is the main access road to a larger estate. Also another resident has spoken to the parent about the same kids on the road. Answer to your question. Lindy Administrator Show me the Shishies! Posts: 1507 Kudos: 1350 Votes: 730 Registered: 25-Apr-2001 | Ryan took a dive off a friends trampoline right onto rocks... the gash on the back of his head was huge. I will never forget the scream I heard come out of that kids mouth. He ended up with 5 staples to hold it together. And I dont know why, but even though it made my stomach turn I couldnt take my eyes away from what the doc was doing! As for kids on bikes. Mine know their bikes will get taken away from them if they dared ride on a road. I see kids ride around here on the road and with no helmet. Before you criticize someone walk a mile in their shoes. Our Christmas was much smaller this year - but worked out GREAT in the long run... We got to celebrate a small portion of it in our new home. We spent most of the time with Family in other places though... i think it turned out to be 4 Hanamas celebrations afterall... (not counting the work Christmas parties). I made some Rocky Road fudge using Irish CreamYUMMA!! "it's the neck, it creaks under the weight of too much heavy thinking." |
