Plant selection and placement is extremly important. Have a look in [link=My Profile]http:// www.fishprofiles.com/interactive/forums/profile.asp?userid=6741" style="COLOR: #00FF00[/link] for my tank info [link=Betta 11Gal Desktop & Placidity 5ft Community Tanks]http://photobucket.com/albums/b209/keithgh/Betta%20desktop%20tank/" style="COLOR: #00FF00[/link] Keith keithgh attached this image: Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do. The CL will be removed when the last of the plants go in. Plants. Lobelia, Crypt nevilii, Hygro phillia , Cardamine. Since that photo I have pulled out all the Anubias and replaced it with tall & short varieties of serated Java Fern. I have also added more DW. I have not added the updated photos to Photo Bucket yet. I have no photos yet, I haven't been able to get them to come out without reflections. It is planted, there are 5 harlequin rasboras, 2 ottos, & the male betta currently in residence. I have plans on adding 5 panda cories as well. The tanks hardware consists of a heater, aqua-clear mini filter, & 15 watt flourescent light hood. The betta is so much more active and his colours are better than ever. If you stick to low-light plants like java fern and moss, cryptocornes and water sprite. I have one amazon sword that has done well in first the 25g and now in the 10g. Small tanks can look every bit as nice as the larger tanks. keithgh *Ultimate Fish Guru* Posts: 6371 Kudos: 6918 Votes: 1542 Registered: 26-Apr-2003 | Certainly add the Betta he will love the extra space. The filter I have is an Eheim 2008 which can be used for 30-60Lt 8-16galUS. After I set up the tank I measured the water as I put it in total 31Lt. I also have a good Rena pump for a airstone. Plants are wisteria, crypts wendtii red, dwarf sag, some bacopa, rotala indica, and an anubias nana. [/font] |
